Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. Since its founding in 1913, the Sorority has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of African Americans and, hence, all Americans. In realizing its mission, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. provides an extensive array of public service initiatives through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of:

- Political Awareness and Involvement
Tempe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on June 9, 1973 and services Phoenix and the East Valley. The chapter provides mentoring to middle and high school girls through its award winning youth programs, supports locally Black-owned businesses, volunteers with refugee support organizations, administers a scholarship program, conducts voter engagement activities, and advocates for policy and legislation focused on education, health, and economic empowerment.
