Dan Young entered the professional world of music in his mid-twenties playing saxophones with local gospel and jazz artists in the Phoenix, Arizona area. While working as a sideman with gospel artists he got his first taste for studio session work, and began creating and performing with other gospel and jazz artists, along with routinely performing the National Anthem for the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks.
In the early 2000’s Dan recorded and released three albums under his own independent label, Run Young One Productions, and toured with his band, the Dan Young Quartet, and was regularly a featured performer in local festivals. This experience greatly broadened his connections to musicians and producers, and grew his experience producing, curating and distributing music.
As the digital revolution began taking shape, the method of music creation and distribution evolved—removing traditional middlemen and creating new mediums for artists’ musical expression. Seeing this as an opportunity to fill a need, Dan created Sonic Productions with co-founder Daniel Lara, recruiting the most creative musicians and producers.
Coupled with decades of sales and management experience, Dan conveys the sole mission for Sonic Productions to become the World’s Best Music Production Company.
