Founded January 2009 (pre event Nov 2008) after humbly receiving verbal consent from Phoenix poetry community, expected 50 and 150 showed, went from Johnny’s Uptown (later changed to Doc’s Place) to Phoenix Downtown Sheraton to The Wyndham, average 200+ attendees every two weeks, saw the need for neo-soul so brought out Bilal, Anthony David, Ife, and Julie Dexter.
