We commit to providing safe & fun outdoor adventures for BIPOC girls ages 8 to 12. We combine outdoor adventure with enrichment activities that encourage social, emotional, physical and mental growth.
To ensure BIPOC youth feel safe, confident and worthy of taking up space outdoors & to empower the next generation of mindful leaders.
Historically, Women of Color lack representation in outdoor spaces, and it continues today. It has only been 50 years since the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This means that the BIPOC, specifically the Black community has only been legally allowed to recreate in outdoor spaces with white people for 50 years.
Atabey Outdoors exists to offer safe spaces for BIPOC girls to experience the outdoors with respect, empathy, protection and celebration.
